This was our first ride of 2013 winter. We were total 7 riders. 5 riders from NCR. Harsh Vardhan,Kaushal Kishore, Deepak Singh Rawal, Ajeet Singh. 1 rider from Dehradoon (Girish Kumar) and 1 rider from mussoorie (Sandeep Mishra)
Morning on 9th Nov 2013 was cold enough to make us lazy to get out of the bed at 4 am , still we managed to do so as it was a time for TRIP with our ROYAL ENFIELDS . We all reached at our prescheduled meeting point on time except one VIVEK , he was lazy enough to so , he reached 30 min late and again he forgot his bike document again 30 min to collect then from his home . Finally we 5 ( Harsh Vardhan- Classic 350, Ajit Kumar Singh- TB 350, Kaushal Kishor TB 350, Deepak Rawal Electra 350, Vivek NS 200) started our TRIP from Noida at 6 am , exactly one hour late from scheduled time . we took our first halt for tea at meerut, it was our first TRIP on this winter season , toh chai toh banti hai boss subha subha. We reached Roorkee at 9:30am and had our breakfast of tandoori paratha and curd with tea , at Ramnagar at 10:00 am (15 Km from roorkee ) we kept some room for delicious PAKODI of Biharigarh (40km from Roorkee on the way to dehradun). We reached Dehradun at 12 noon where another ridr joined us ( Girish Tiwari – Classic 350).
Our first Destination to explore in Dehradun was Robber’s cave( Guchu Pani) – it is close to 10 km on right turn( towards Hathi Badkalan) from Hotel Medo Grand ( on Rajpur Road). A bulleter saw us riding together and he insisted to join us till Robbers cave and we take him along . I visited this place after a long interval of good 6 years and what I saw is a ENTRY TICKET , earlier it used to be a free place to visit we use to cook and do party on the bank of the water stream , and we use to sit and enjoy entire day , not Government has commercialized it by making a restaurant and other small shops for tea and Maggie , earlier there use to be only one shop and the best part was when that old man saw me and said ARAY BHAIYA ITNE DIN BAAD KAHA THE AAP , and I was like oh man he still remember us .
After removing our riding gears , we took some foot wear to make us comfortable to walk through that cave where a stram of flowing water was coming and we have to walk agains the flow , water was close to 2 ft in height, and we reached to the best possible point inside the cave sat over their for good time did photography and had fun , Place is really good , away from city close to nature . We left this place by 3 Pm and headed to our next destination SAHASTRADHARA .
SAHASTRADHARA - This is a gain a water fall specially known for its rich content of sulpher in flowing water which also acts as a treatment for healthy skin . one should take the road going Left from SAI mandir , it is 8 Km from SAI mandir( a well know SAI temple on rajpur road ). Curves on this way are so beautiful and dangerous too 4km down hill and 4 km uphill . We reached SAHASTRADHAR at 3:30 pm did some mountain climbing and photography and decided to had our lunch in a Punjabi restaurant but what we ate is SOUTH INDIAN.
We started our journey for MANSOORIE at 6 pm and took a halt at one of the hot spot for youngsters “Maggie point” view of the city Dehradun from this point was great , as if some thing is glittering . we reached Mansoorie at 7 Pm took a hotel “Mansoorie Residency” . We were tired but still exited and we ended our day at 1 am at knight.
We took good time to start our day with a morning walk on mall road Mansoorie, at 9 am had our breakfast and rode our ROYAL ENFIELD to KEMPTY FALL which is 15 Km uphill from Mansoorie, This is a natural water fall and a major point of attraction for tourist and for us main point of interest was FLYING FOX , which we 4 riders did and 3 others were like no “how we can do this” and they didn’t do it .
After Flying Fox at kempty fall we were suppose to meet another group of Royal Enfield from Dehradoon who were willing to meet us - Sourabha Rawal , We planned to meet at CHAR DUKAAN which is just 1 km before our next destitation LAL TIBA , road to this destination was some thing which we all enjoyed it must ne close to 30-40 degree inclined road around 5 km in distance which we covered till CHAR DUKAAN –it’s a famous meetup point for Riders . And after that we moved up to LAL TIBA – it is the highest point in Mansoorie – beautiful sight with only one shop for tea and Maggie and we enjoyed having then.
From Mansoorie we planed to move to move to our next destination –DHANAULTI at 3 pm , but Dhanaulti was not so good to be very honest only ECO park was a place where one can spend his time so with the help of Group from Dehradun ( Sourabh Rawal) we decided to visit TEHRI DAM , and we started our journey for that . We decided to tale a night stay in CHAMBA , reached CHAMBA at 6:30 which is just 30 km from Dhanaulti . Best part of CHAMBA was rates of Alcoholic drinks – Rs. 170 for 50ml BLACK BOG peg, and trust me people with us who use to drink were happy like any thing as a result they were “DOWN”
We started our Day at 9 am we our Royal Enfield ready to explore more. Way to Tehri is good , a good road in hills , But we were in a different mood that day just after 5 km we say a way going down hill (offraad) a Kaachi Sadak best way of offroading and our mind went offroading so we took a turn on that 25 km stretch for offroading and we started . yes as every Riders learns hard way one of our new Rider did, with a small skit on a sharp turn but every thing was very much safe including his Darling “Royal Enfield “ after 25 Km we hit road again and reached Tehri Dam . Every thing was going good till the time we were on our Royal Enfields and cameras switched off , moment we stoped our Royal Enfield and took camera out to click few images , some one screamed ‘Koi photo nahi keeche ga , Format kar duga subke Camere ‘ and what we say a CISF man running toward us with other two guards , and we kept our cameras back in the case . Cameras are not allowed in that area , but Place is really nice one can imagine what efforts and technology they must have used to built such a Big Dam . Yes the place was beautiful and calm around this giant TEHRI DAM.
We were hungry like any thing and decided to have lunch in CHAMBA. Moved back to Chamba reached at 1 pm and those 30min of that day we all ate as if we were hungry like animals, and decided to hit the road back to noida , next halt was rishikesh where we had tea and moved to roorkee for our planned halt for famous PATIYALA lassi at 6 pm . then CHEETAL restaurant at Khautali and finally we were home at 11 pm .
